Today I watched BBC’s mini series (I guess you can say it’s a mini series) “Sense & Sensibility” and “Emma”.
I’m a fan of Jane Austen’s most famous work Pride & Prejudice. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten around to reading her other novels because my current reading list is long and I want to get a good chunk of them read before YALLFEST this year.
Every single time I watch a film adaption of Jane Austen’s novels, I always find myself enamored. Honestly, I’m a closet romantic. I love those moments in movies when the male lead looks upon the leading lady but turns away just as she glances at him. I love it when their hands touch for a second longer than it needs to because in that brief moment they’re affections for one another are finally known.
So when I watched “Sense & Sensibility” and “Emma” today, I’m reminded why everyone loves writing about love through many mediums. It reminds what I want in a relationship although I have no intentions of getting married. What a laugh. I’m a romanticist who doesn’t want to get married.
But, thinking about it is nice.
